Wine Tasting at Bodega Pérez: Local wines from the heart of Álora

A creative family-run winery

Bodega Pérez Hidalgo is a creative and personal venture in the world of wine. Using grapes grown under the warm sun of Málaga, the winery produces distinctive wines that truly reflect the character of the region.

Their red wines are aged in oak barrels, giving them depth and complexity, while the white wines beautifully capture the freshness and character of the local terroir.

During your visit, you’ll learn more about the winemaking process—from harvest to fermentation and barrel aging—while hearing the stories and traditions behind this family-run winery.

The experience

Although the vineyards themselves are located outside the village, a visit to the winery offers a wonderful insight into how the wines are made.

You’ll visit the winery, where tradition and modern techniques come together to transform grapes into exceptional wines. The tour concludes with a guided wine tasting, where you’ll discover the aromas, flavors, and character of their wines.

The tasting is often accompanied by local tapas, making it a relaxed and enjoyable experience.

We’ve been there several times ourselves, and it’s always a wonderful experience. In fact, we also serve wines from Bodega Pérez during our special dinner evenings at Cortijo Valverde.

Good to know

Bodega Pérez offers guided tours and tastings that provide a wonderful introduction to the wines of Málaga and the family behind them.

Since the tastings are small and intimate, we recommend making a reservation in advance. We’ll be happy to assist you with this.

The winery is located about 20 minutes from Cortijo Valverde and the Caminito del Rey area, making it an easy and enjoyable wine-tasting experience during your stay. We’re happy to arrange a taxi if you’d prefer not to drive so everyone can enjoy the wine tasting.

Cortijo Valverde Tip

Combine your wine tasting with a visit to the beautiful village of Álora. Stroll through the narrow streets, visit the hilltop castle, and enjoy lunch or tapas at one of the local restaurants before or after your tasting.

If you’d like to visit Bodega Pérez, just let us know—we’d be happy to make reservations and help you plan your visit.
