Caminito del Rey: Andalusia’s most spectacular walkway

What to expect on your hike
- Duration: around 2-3 hours depending on your pace
- Distance: approximately 7.5 km
- Difficulty: easy to moderate, suitable for most fitness levels
- Highlights: dramatic cliffs, the famous suspension bridge, and panoramic views over the gorge
Tips for your visit
- Book your tickets in advance. They usually become available about 4 months ahead and sell out quickly.
- Plan to arrive about one hour before your time slot.
- Bring cash for the shuttle bus.
- Wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially in warmer months.
- If you prefer an early start, we’re happy to prepare a breakfast package for you to take along.
Getting there
The Caminito del Rey has 3 main entrances:
- North Entrance (Ardales): This is where most hikes start. You’ll walk through a short forest trail before reaching the official entrance gate.
- Centro de Visitantes: A visitor centre with parking and facilities located between the north and south entrances.
- South Exit (El Chorro): The hike finishes here. From this point you can take the shuttle bus back to the parking area.
A perfect day trip from Cortijo Valverde
Almost all of our guests combine the Caminito del Rey with a relaxed afternoon back at the cortijo. After a morning of adventure, return to Cortijo Valverde for a refreshing swim in the pool, a glass of wine on your terrace, or simply some well-deserved rest in the Andalusian sunshine.
